How to resolve error “your clock is behind” on browser – this error will happen when date and time of your windows are not accurate with the Actual time, it’s will effect when you try to visit some website using your browser. Actually, your browser will display warning error “your clock is behind” and you can not visit some website on the internet.

The background of this error is the time of your windows is not update, so you need to update it and your windows time will synchronize with time on the internet or actual time. On this tutorial, I will explain how to update your windows time.

How to automatic update your windows time

The first step, make sure that you have an Internet connection for Automatic updates for your Windows.  Then open your browser and try to visit one of the sites through the browser. In this tutorial, I used Google Chrome as my default browser. When I try to visit the website, the error notification will display an example as below :

To update the time, you need to click Update date and time on your browser, then Date and Time setting will display.

After Date and Time setting display, go to Internet time to automatically synchronize with the internet server and choose Change settings.

In this setting, you need to check the column “Synchronize with an Internet time server”, in the Server options you can choose the NTP server as your internet time server, in this tutorial I choose time.windows.com as my internet time server. Click Update now to update your windows time.

You can change with other Server if you can not update your windows time with some server.

Wait until your windows are finished to synchronizing with the internet time server. You can see the information about your windows time, for example as bellow.  After these steps, you have complete to update your windows time.  Click OK to close the set.

Now open your browser and try to access a website, if notice ‘’your clock is behind” is not displayed on your browser, it means your windows are running normally and your date and time are up to date.

This step is more effective than you do manually setting of date and time because your windows time will automatically synchronize with the internet time server and will certainly be accurate with the world clock.
