Accessing the Mikrotik Router For the First Time - In this article, I will explain the steps on how to access the MikroTik router for the first time before configuring the router. There are several methods or ways to access the MikroTik router, we can use the Winbox application, remote Telnet and SSH, or through a web browser using webfig.
How to Access the MikroTik Router Using Winbox
The most common way to access a MikroTik router is to use the winbox application, with this application it is possible to configure the router through a graphical interface (GUI). To access the MikroTik router using a winbox, we can connect via MAC address (layer 2) and also IP address (layer 3).
To login
to the MikroTik router with a MAC address, we don't have to configure
the IP address on the laptop, this is because the connection via MAC
address runs at layer 2. Meanwhile, to log in to the router with the IP
address, you must configure the IP address both on the router interface
and on the laptop.

How to Access the MikroTik Router Using WebFig
Besides using winbox, SSH and Telnet, you can also access MikroTik router using a web browser with webfig services.
The
steps please open a web browser, then type the router's IP address in the URL bar. This webfig uses port 80, so make sure port 80 on the router is open.

Here is the appearance of webfig, it looks almost similar to Winbox, but the difference is that access to the MikroTik with this webfig is run through a web browser.

Those
are some ways to access the MikroTik router both through the command line
interface and through the graphical interface. In the next article I
will discuss a tutorial on how to do a basic configuration on a MikroTik
router so that the router can connect to the internet and also function
as an internet gateway for local networks.
Hopefully, this tutorial is useful, thank you.
